  • Overview

    Under supervision, provides support for assigned accounts receivable activities; ensures timely resolution of accounts receivable-related issues as well as effective communication across the team. Serves as liaison between external billing services and patients, when appropriate. Serves on work committees and special projects as assigned. Reports to the Director of Accounts Receivable

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

     

    1. Ongoing review of suspense accounts to ensure appropriate allocation of funds;
    2. Creating, posting and closing payment batches for assigned accounts;
    3. Reviewing document/ lockbox files and distributing correspondence, as appropriate;
    4. Reviewing and distributing faxes and other correspondence received through main communication portals, such as facsimile;
    5. Completing month-end close within assigned timeframes;
    6. Assisting in the initial and ongoing training of assigned team members;
    7. Complying with Corporate Compliance Program; and
    8. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education: College degree in related field or business management preferred but not required; or
    equivalent blend of experience and education.


     Licensure and Certifications: NA


     Work Experience: At least two years’ experience in anesthesia billing or a related function.


    Skills and Abilities: Advanced organization skills and office administration abilities. Demonstrated ability to: communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing with people from diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds; document information accurately in writing and/or on computer; organize work, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks; effectively make decisions and solve problems; work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff, remain calm and professional in stressful situations and focused during interruptions in a fast-paced environment.  Fluent in both English and Spanish.
